Katie Campisano founded Kamp Media Relations in 2016. She’s worked primarily in startup tech PR since she graduated from Quinnipiac University in 2010. With experience in both large agency PR and boutique, Katie decided to create a company built on strong relationships with clients and media.
Katie started Kamp Media Relations to work alongside clients and build genuine, lasting media relationships. Promising clients transparency and setting realistic goals to accomplish as a team, Kamp serves clients mostly in B2B technology, cryptocurrency, consumer-facing services, global innovation festivals and emerging technologies.
The Rest of the Story
I’ve always known what I did not want to do: lawyer, doctor, teacher, etc. So when it came down to it, public relations and communications was a welcoming career path. The brilliant people and entrepreneurs in the space- especially in NYC- made me fall in love with the space.
I travel and work remotely. So my relationships not only with clients, but also people in my life, are very real and honest. Having moved from NYC to Los Angeles for a fresh personal and professional start, I wound up staying for the sunshine. I am passionate about what I do and have learned that the payoff in working hard toward a goal is always worth it.
Stuff You Wouldn't Know
First Job: I was a beverage cart girl at a country club in New Jersey. Best job I ever had (sh!)
Random Facts: Travel is what makes life worth living. I have traveled around the world and have lived in a different city every month for 9 months while working remotely. It’s been an incredible experience and I have done everything from shark-diving in South Africa to eating at the #4-rated restaurant in Peru to yoga in Paris and cliff-jumping in Croatia. I am involved with young women and their personal journey of recovery with drug and alcohol addiction.
