James brings to LINK3D extensive content marketing experience. A trained journalist and SEO copywriter, James has managed content marketing for hundreds of organizations across dozens of different markets. After completing his B.A. from SUNY Fredonia, he worked as a financial journalist- covering personal and corporate finance beats- before focusing on a career in internet marketing. In addition to his years of experience in content marketing, James is Google Analytics, AdWords Fundamentals and Search-certified. He is also Hubspot Inbound certified.
The Rest of the Story
I began my writing career in internet journalism at a time there was a significant demand for it. But as the Information Age evolved, information circumvented the gate keepers and was at everyone’s disposal. I wanted to be part of the change we were witnessing and how we interact with our world. It was with this I changed my course to focus on building my expertise in SEO copywriting.
Working for an internet marketing agency was a great place to get my foot in the door. Quickly learning all the different strategies for all the various clients on multiple marketing channels was the perfect way to diversify for a fulfilling career.
My agency experience has opened plenty of doors, allowing me to build the marketing presence for numerous organizations. And after having co-founded two internet marketing startups, I gained perspective on both the business and creative ends of the spectrum. I now enjoy the autonomy I have as a marketing leader at LINK3D.
Stuff You Wouldn't Know
First Job: Delivering newspapers when I was 12. Without any real understanding of the value of a dollar, I quit after about 3 months when the Upstate winter rolled in (I guess that's why the previous kid quit). My Childhood: I grew up in Upstate New York. I spent my time as a child boating, playing basketball, traveling and unfortunately rooting for the Buffalo Bills.
Random Facts: I am an avid hiker and am just about half way through climbing all 46 Adirondack High Peaks.
